The Seaside Heights Polar Plunge will be held on Saturday, February 23. This will be the 26th year that the event is held in Seaside Heights. Organization officials anticipate more than 6,000 plungers and a total of 25,000 attendees at the annual Special Olympics fund raising event.
The Seaside Heights Police Department is reminding Polar Plungers coming to Seaside on February 23 to come early in order to avoid potential traffic delays and parking issues.
The NJ Department of Transportation as well as state and local law enforcement agencies will be working in concert to keep traffic flowing.
Plungers from north of Seaside Heights should consider the following travel recommendations in order to avoid delays on Route 37:
– travel south on the Garden State Parkway to Exit 98, merge onto NJSH 34 south to NJSH 35 south to Seaside Heights.
– travel east on NJSH 70 to NJSH 35 south to Seaside Heights.
– travel east on NJSH 88 to NJSH 35 south to Seaside Heights.
