The application process for the position of Special Law Enforcement Officer I (SLEO I)* for the 2018 season has commenced.  Please read the instructions below carefully.

The Seaside Heights Police Department has elected to participate in the Ocean County Police Chiefs Association 2018 Centralized Testing Process.  This process is different from the prior process utilized by this agency.  Applicants must be a citizen of the United States, minimum 18 years of age, high school diploma or equivalent, and possess a valid N.J. drivers license.   Applications will only be made available to individuals upon the successful completion of the centralized testing process.

Registration deadline is November 20, 2017 at 11:59 p.m.

The written examination will be held on Saturday, November, 25, 2017 @ 9:00 a.m. at the Ocean County Police Academy.

*Special Law Enforcement Officer I (SLEO I): authorized to perform routine traffic details, spectator control and other similar duties. If authorized by borough ordinance, SLEO I’s are empowered to issue summonses for disorderly persons and petty disorderly person’s offenses, violations of borough ordinances and violations of Title 39. SLEO I’s are not authorized to carry a firearm and shall not be assigned to any duty which may require the carrying of a firearm.
